Children’s Choir
St. Francis Children’s Choir
Laudate Pueri!
Ps. 113 Praise the Lord, O children of the Lord.
St. Francis Children’s Choirs rehearse once every other week on Monday afternoons and occasionally serve at Masses on Fridays and Sundays. We have two ensembles 1) The Parish children’s choir (older kids) and starting this year we have 2) Cherub Choir a children’s choir for younger students. The program is intended to foster growth in one’s faith through song and eventually sing in the adult choir when they are ready. The Parish children’s choir has choristers from ages 11 and up. The Cherub choir is for younger students roughly 8-12 based on ability and reading level. We are currently accepting sopranos, altos, and young tenors. No audition required.

How We Work
Ethos & Process
Beauty
We believe that children naturally respond to music that has inherent beauty. We sing only the highest quality Catholic music from accessible Gregorian chant to choral pieces by W.A. Mozart.
Truth
We engage with children in a respectful and mature way. Liturgical music often brings up interesting and engaging theological questions. We do not shy away from discussions with deepen a child’s understanding of the Faith.
Discipline
We understand the difference between work and play. Both have their place in the rehearsal space. The children enjoy the challenges of the rehearsal as much as they engage in the social aspects of a choir.
Joy
We find enjoyment in many different ways. Kids are allowed to be themselves. The children’s personalities range from shy to rambunctious. There’s a place for everyone!
Service
We emphasize giving back to the Lord through serving in the choir during Mass, more casual recitals, and formal concerts. The children understand how their voices play an important role in uplifting the community and evangelization.
Personal Growth
We understand that singing in a choir of like-minded children strengthens the whole individual. Parents report that their children show improvement in social skills, openness, confidence, and maturity.
Who we are
Meet our Choir!
Choristers generally have little or no previous singing or musical experience. They will be trained and develop skills as a part of the learning process.
