St. Francis of Assisi

Music & Liturgy

We welcome you to dive into the deep end with us. Prepare to be rewarded. Really.

Ordinary Folks

Choir members are regular people from all walks of life and backgrounds. None are professional musicians.

Committed

Choir members invest time practicing and developing their skills throughout the week, not simply during rehearsals.

Christ Centered

Choir members understand how crucial truth, beauty, and tradition are as followers of Jesus Christ. We don’t perform, we serve.

Extensive Practice Resources

Choir members are provided recordings, vocal tracks, and ample communication to maximize time investment and success.

Vocal Training

Choir members are entitled to free voice lessons from the director as a part of their membership in the ensemble.

Family Oriented

Choir is one of the easiest ways to meet people and socialize at a time when society is offering little. Our choristers typically span three generations. Bring the whole family!

Traditional, Solemn, & Reverent Worship

We strive to clothe the Mass in beauty, mystery, wonder, awe, and jubilation. Our tools are Gregorian chant, choral masterpieces, traditional hymnody, and instrumental excellence.

Devout, Humble, & Welcoming

Experience a Christ centered life that renews the bedrocks of simpler times: family, faith, and community.

“Once I enter the choir room, all my troubles melt away.”

-Lucy Pardee, choir member

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I avoid choir if I’m tone deaf?

Tone deafness isn’t real. If matching pitch or reading music has you hesitant, I would schedule a meeting with Dr. Geier and determine your areas of strength and improvement.

I love singing in choir, but life happened. Can I juggle choir and everything else I have to do?

Almost everyone in the choir has a spouse, several children, and careers they are managing. By joining, you’re gaining a family and a support system, not another event on the calendar. We’re here to help!

What if I can’t make every week?

There is no attendance policy for the choir, yet, we have 90% participation every week. Come when you can, practice to make up the difference.

How does practice work in the choir?

Dr. Geier has uploaded most of our repertoire onto the website for you to listen and sing along with. Most members do not read music. Some practice a lot, others don’t need to. Any practice is better than nothing.

When/Where do you meet?

Generally, Thursdays 7-8:30pm and Sundays 8-9:30am on St. Francis grounds.
